I don’t even know where to start this blog post. In this past week alone I’ve met an Emmy Award Winning Sports Director, reached my running goal, made a CapCut tutorial which has over 8k views right now, met a cool new podcast connection, and a bunch of other stuff happened that I can’t even post on the internet.
All I can say is I’m so grateful for the people around me, I genuinely feel like I don’t deserve all the good that’s coming to me.
I’m the luckiest girl in the world, so to balance out my Karma or whatever, I want to share with you my ultimate networking hack, an editing tip that boosted my short form content views and the three videos I watched this week that made me better.
Networking hack
Have you read How to Win Friends and Influence People? I have, along with a bunch of other books on how to talk to people, persuade them and get them to like you, but here’s what I found works best for me:
Shoot as many shots as possible with the aim of helping.
I have probably sent thousands of emails and messages to people over the years, as I’ve gotten older I’ve gotten more effective because my outlook on life has changed. I used to think I wanted money to take care of my parents when they get old. I still like money but I value what money represents, which is the ability to solve complex problems or help a lot of people. This change in mindset makes me approach messages differently.
I realized I want three things.
Success I earned
A family I’m there for
To feel close to God through serving others
When reaching out to people, I stopped helping others with the expectation of something in return because I realized helping people was the point in the first place.
If you’re having trouble effectively reaching out to people, try changing your goal to unconditionally helping people and watch while it works it’s magic on your language and interactions.
Editing hack
I saw this on a YouTube video I watched yesterday but it helped me break through low views on my podcast clips. It adds emphasis on the hook and creates an interesting visual style for the viewer.
Go to CapCut
Go to Effects
Type in Blur
Drag down the effect
Put to desired length
Quotes that inspired me
Three Videos that made me better
The plan for this week (that I can talk about lol)
Refilm three short videos for my free 7 day course which you can take here
Mando’s podcast episode is out Wednesday
Put out Dan’s content and record data on performance
Plan out 2 YouTube videos and record them
Giving a speech Wednesday
