Hi 👋 my name is Laura Mai and I’m your happy healthy travelling marketing consultant. My goal is to make ethical marketing easy.
Seventeen days ago I started a challenge set by Alex Hormozi in his training on acquisition.com to spend 100 minutes on content every day for 100 days.
Every day (except Sunday per my religion) I will be doing this challenge and sharing what I learned that you can apply.
If you’re not already, make sure you sign up for my email list so you don’t miss a post!
Day sixteen:
Happy Monday!
Loads of exciting stuff has happened in between Saturday and today.
Yesterday I took a good rest, but in the content I consumed I heard four wise things:
It’s important to find joy through our trials
People in need don’t only need help from 1 Dec to 1 Jan
The best leaders ask the most questions
Ask yourself: What is your relationship with rejection? How does this relate to your patterns of behaviour
I’ll definitely be using this to fuel my content for the weekend.
Goals for this week:
I was scrolling on Instagram and saw this video from a creator which has inspired me to change my approach.
I’m going to spend this week and focus on more engaging content.
This means:
Vlogs of my travels - one long + short videos on Tik Tok
Starting series - Cook with me -> life questions
Travel with me -> remote working hacks
Work with me -> marketing hacks
Asking more questions throughout my content
Asking more opinions about things that genuinely matter
Time spent Saturday: 170 minutes
What I made:
-2 Tik toks (35 minutes)
-1 blog (30 minutes)
-1 posts for my poetry page (5 minutes)
-Instagram post and stories (35 minutes)
-Additional emails and posting on different pages (5 minutes)
-editing (70 minutes)
Struggles:
With my current skill set, I’m not able to make the video with Dan as good as it should be in time.
Editing the video by myself looks ok, but it’s a B at best, I’m handing it over to an editor but editing it myself allowed me to ask for exactly what I needed and want that I couldn’t do myself.
What went well:
I’ve been asked to do a few guest blogs. I submitted one this morning and there’s a webinar involved as well!
I’m in talks with a large creator, someone I mentioned in a social post, I’m having them on my podcast as well. I’ll confirm when it’s complete so I don’t jinx it.
My editing really is getting so much better. I feel confident in my ability to do short form content.
Key takeaways of the day:
Look at other approaches to gain insight for content people are responding to. Then test it
Try first, but when your job is done, acknowledge if it's the quality you want put out. If not, hire someone to do a better job
Tag everyone in your posts. Everyone. You never know who will see it. Then, reach out to people who have responded to you.
If you want to see my warm outreach emails let me know, I’d be happy to share how I frame emails to get a yes. Leave a comment on LinkedIn or below saying the word "warm"
If you're enjoying this content challenge sign up to my emails to make sure you don't miss a post! You don't wanna miss what happens next because I have little fear of social rejection and the personality of an outgoing American Dad 😂.
