When I first work with clients, I make sure they know these seven rules. I wanted to share them with you to set you up for social media success.

1. Define Your Social Media Goals

Before you dive in, ask yourself: What are you trying to achieve? Whether it’s brand awareness, lead generation, or community building, your strategy should align with your business objectives. A social media expert knows that clear goals drive measurable success.

2. Know Your Audience Inside and Out

Understanding your audience is key. Who are they? What are their pain points? What type of content do they engage with? As a social media consultant, your job is to tailor content that resonates and builds authentic connections.

Before you post, ask yourself: Would I pay $5 for this? (the shorter the post, the lower this number can be.)

4. Engage, Don’t Just Broadcast

Social media is a two-way conversation. Whether you offer social media consulting services or manage a brand account, responding to comments, messages, and engaging with followers is crucial for building a loyal community.

The world of social media evolves constantly. A top social media advisor stays ahead by keeping up with algorithm changes, new features, and trends to optimize content performance.
